Once in a lifetime opportunity: 90 days to election

Challenge:

A land trust is faced with a unique opportunity: a homesteading family wants to sell a unique farm and woodland - but the price tag is very high. The city is willing to consider a bond issue if enough private money can be found - in 90 days.

Outcome:

Campaign planning, coaching, training helped support an intense 90 day fundraising effort accomplishing many of the objectives for which the land trust had been working towards for more than ten years. They raised $1.2 million from individuals and leveraged another $7.9 million in public support through a bond issue which they won 65% to 35%. All told, more than $9 million was secured in a community of less than 50,000 people in only 90 days.
